Come and make a Nerikomi dish with me!
Nerikomi is a traditional Japanese technique of creating patterns by layering different colours of clay. You'll find an example of part of this process here.
In this 2 hour workshop, you’ll create your own unique dish using different coloured clays.
I'll guide you through the process of creating patterns using coloured clay, and you will be able to use templates or make your own shape from your slab. Your two favourites will be fired and turned into your own ceramic artworks.
After the workshop, I will bisque and glaze fire your dish with a gloss glaze. Your work can then be collected from the studio approximately 5 weeks after the workshop.
All materials will be provided, and no experience is needed. Just come and explore working with the wonderful material that is clay, in a relaxed environment.
There are limited spaces for this group, so you will have plenty of time and space to experiment and ask any questions.
