An intricately patterned, handcrafted trinket dish created with layers of white, blue and combination colour* and  stoneware clay. 
 
The colours and forms I include in my collections are inspired by water, sky and my local landscape. I use the grounding quality of clay to explore ideas of flow, balance and connection to nature. 
 
Each dish is handmade by me, in my garden studio in East Oxford using Nerikomi - a traditional Japanese technique of layering coloured clay and slicing through to reveal patterns. They're fired twice and glazed with a smooth gloss clear glaze. They are all completely unique and individual pieces and the one you receive may differ slightly from the image shown.
 
Gifting
Each one comes wrapped in recycled tissue paper, and tied with black and white string, so it’s all ready for gifting – perfect as a housewarming or birthday present. The dishes could be used as a trinket dish for jewellery, for snacks and nibbles, or just for display.

Sustainability
It is important to me as a maker to consider the environmental impact of my work. This is an ongoing process and I'm always looking for new ways to reduce the environmental impact of my work. *Combination clay is a beautiful recycled mix of white and coloured stoneware clay. It's slightly different every time ranging from a soft marble to light grey.
